Multidimensional sensory approach as a new approach for customised diagnostics and therapy for patients with Parkinson’s disease
Prof. Dr. med. Karsten Witt (Medicine, Neurology)
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Hein (Computer Science, Engineering, Medical Device Technologies)
This project aims to improve diagnostics and therapy for Parkinson’s disease by using near-ear and ambient sensors to monitor motor and non-motor fluctuations in patients’ everyday lives. By collecting and interpreting data on movement, speech, and swallowing, the project seeks to create feedback loops for patients and refine individualised therapy algorithms. The focus is on integrating sensor technology for precise diagnostics and tailored treatments.
